Morpheus is the software of choice for downloading music. In this version, Morpheus still doesn’t get the much craved dominating position in peer to peer world. It uses its "distributed hash tables" to make searches and ultimately download more efficiently. Morpheus still connects with Fast Track (Kazaa), BitTorrent networks, Gnutella, and eDonkey, the other very famous peer to peer facilities. Morpheus is unquestionably one of the peer to peer software utilities in which searches are extremely fast and a huge number of results appear immediately. However, its user interface is filled with unsolicited ads.

RealPlayer 10:

RealPlayer is a streaming-media and an industry-standard music software since a long time. It also offers a downloadable music store and enhanced jukebox capabilities. Despite of its not providing pioneering sound quality, the RealPlayer is the music software in use by many due to its easy-to-use features. In its version 10, the jukebox features new options for ripping CDs, listening to hundreds of online radio stations, making playlists, and burning custom mixes. The programmers claim to having improved the user interface, but it still looks sluggish, confusing and cluttered.

VLC Media Player 0.8.5:

VLC Media Player is probably the easiest software to use for playing videos as well as audios. Actually, VLC Media Player offers a one-stop solution for different file-formats playing problem in a single software. It supports playback of MP2, MP3, MP4, DVD, OGG, DivX, and a number of other file formats. You can also use it as a streaming media server. It is one of those software products with the feature of open-source foundation, which enables it to evolve quickly, with new features and fixes released frequently. Despite these great features, the user interface indeed needs to be improved.
